Brendan has been a full-time fitness professional for over 10 years. With his initial focus being on personal training, and then progressing to larger group setting that Yankee CrossFit offers, he has never lost that attention to detail that is required when working one on one with an athlete. An honors graduate of the NPTI (National Personal Training Institute), he also holds nationally accredited certifications from the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), and the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). More recently though, he has discovered his training passions and beliefs lie more within the CrossFit model of fitness, focusing on functionality, and ”fitness over broad time and modal domains”, rather than specializing or focusing on pure aesthetics.
Since first trying CrossFit in 2008, Brendan has engulfed himself in this incredibly effective, but more importantly, functional, style of training. With multiple certifications from CrossFit, he also continues to study under many high level coaches from both the CrossFit and Olympic Lifting world. Along with this constant pursuit of knowledge, Brendan also competes at an elite level, in what has been dubbed “The Sport of Fitness.” In 2013, he placed 8th in the Reebok CrossFit Games Northeast Regional competition. He also competed in and won several local competitions over the last year.
